Smoked Trout Dip

Ingredients:

8 oz Ducktrap Smoked trout
1 ½ Cups whipped cream cheese
½ Cup sour cream
1 Tbsp prepared horseradish
1 Tbsp capers, drained and chopped
1 Tbsp scallions, thinly chopped
1 Tbsp fresh dill, finely chopped
2 Tsps fresh lemon juice
½ Tsp lemon zest
Fresh cracked pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. If needed, remove the skin and bones from the trout. Using your hands gently flake the trout into pieces, aiming for larger chunks for a more rustic texture.  
  2. In a bowl, combine all the remaining ingredients together.
  3. Carefully fold in the trout, being mindful not to break the pieces up too much to maintain their texture.
  4. Finish by garnishing with additional dill, lemon zest and a sprinkle of pepper. Serve with warm crusty bread or crackers for the perfect pairing.
